The miracle of Olaplex – Part 1

You’ve probably heard about the product that everyone is raving about, from A list celebrities and colourists to the stars, to hair salon owners, beauty editors and your friends with great hair.

It all started with a meeting between Dean Christal and two passionate scientists who went back to the very basics of hair structure and causes of hair damage. The research of Dr Eric Pressly and Dr Craig Hawker showed them that hair is a naturally occurring polymer, and following harsh chemical treatments (such as hair colouring) the repeating bonds in the hair are split apart, leading to damaged, poorly conditioned hair.

They used organic chemistry to create a new patented active ingredient that can work within the hair strand to repair these broken bonds and return the hair to its original undamaged state.

In essence they have created a miracle cure for hair damage in the form of Olaplex. It can literally rebuild the integral structure and strength of the hair, and is suitable for all hair types. After use hair is healthier, stronger and appears thicker. You can lose the straw-like appearance that often follows colouring or bleaching.

The great results from using Olaplex on coloured hair and during the colouring process have led it to be the most praised hair care product of 2019, and this looks set to continue. It’s used by celebrity stars around the world including Gwyneth Paltrow, the Kardashian sisters and Jennifer Lopez, who all need to undergo regular trend setting colour treatments and can’t afford for their hair to look damaged or out of condition.

And did we mention their fabulous ethical stance? “We NEVER test on animals and are completely non-toxic and free of silicone, sulfates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes, and gluten. We’re proud to be included in ShearCraft’s cruelty free hair guide!”

Using Olaplex is primarily a three step process, with further optional steps that you can maintain at home. It starts with a visit to the Headspace Salon in Dunstable where we can assess your hair, the colour results you are looking for, and then provide your full treatment.

You’ve got to try it to believe it!
